Our strength lies in our proprietary Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) embedded refund protection platform, which provides massive distribution and a top-tier digital purchasing experience for insurance carriers, event organizers, booking platforms, ticketing systems, and their consumers. Our e-commerce solution is embedded in millions of carts each month, and we're seeking a talented engineer to join our high-performing team.

We seek a QA Automation Lead with experience leading high-performance, scalable software testing and a proven ability to architect and implement comprehensive testing strategies for large-scale eCommerce systems. In this role, you will ensure the quality of our entire technology stack, including back-end, APIs, data pipelines, migrations, and front-end applications. As a key leader on our quality team, you will be instrumental in defining QA strategies, overseeing rigorous testing processes, and mentoring the QA team to deliver excellence across all areas of our platform. You’ll need to be a person who can elevate the quality process, challenge the status quo, and inspire others, including leadership, to prioritize quality at every stage. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-performance QA strategies for Protecht’s backend services, data pipelines, migrations, and front-end frameworks, covering all critical application paths.
  • Evaluate and select the most appropriate automation tools and technologies (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, Cypress, Postman, etc) for the products’ needs. 
  • Conduct ongoing test case reviews and enforce QA best practices to maintain high test coverage and effectiveness standards, building a process to certify tests are up-to-date, relevant, and provide accurate results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration of test automation into the software development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the release process, ensuring all products are thoroughly tested and defect-free before seamless production deployment.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our products and business, embedding quality at every stage.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive QA documentation while mentoring the QA team to uphold rigorous testing standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on testing data, providing actionable insights to continuously improve product quality and reliability.
  • Identify potential risks in the testing process and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of QA experience in high-volume consumer-facing websites and applications, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Deep experience developing strategies for API testing, webhook testing, third-party integration, performance testing, and security testing.
    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
    • Extensive experience with automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Appium, or similar.
    • Experience with modern automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, and Puppeteer.
    • Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
    • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Buddy, GitLab, or Bamboo.
  • Solid experience in QA release management and integrating QA processes within agile environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • This is a remote position. Travel to Protecht Hubs in Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, or Chicago may be required as necessary.

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust).
  • Certification in QA or related fields (e.g., ISTQB).
